Gone are the days of standing at a copy machine for an hour to make copies of worksheets and then spending time after class picking up the stragglers that were left behind.
My trick to creating digital worksheets is to use Microsoft PowerPoint™. I prefer this program for designing because it’s easy to edit, add text boxes, tables, and use purchased fonts. I create the worksheet and then save it as an image (PNG or JPEG). I prefer to use PNG.
The first time you create a digital worksheet you will need to change the DPI. Follow the instructions here, for the process.
Next, open a digital platform like Google Slides™ and insert the picture as the background. From here you can add text boxes or tables for students to type their answers. When you share the file with your students make sure they are each editing their own file and you’re good to go!
